After seven years of professional writing, multiple book deals with 2 different publishers, and a slew of east and west coast tours, I’m officially “self-published.” And loving it.

It’s only fitting that the very first book I ever had published is also the first book I’ve self-published.

I’m pleased to announce that Rise of the Dibor (Book 1) 2nd Edition is officially available to the public, and there are three ways you can get it:

1.) PRINT SOFT-COVER: Available now in a 398-page 6″x9″ trade cream-paper, full color cover edition for $14.99. While I get a larger share of the profits if you buy it (even internationally) through my CreateSpace store as linked to (which in turn allows me to keep writing more great stories), you can also buy it through, as well as through any major retailer in the coming days.

2.) KINDLE: For those of you that have become ardent e-reading fans like myself, the book will be available on Kindle within a few weeks for $0.99.

3.) ONLINE: If either of those two price points or delivery methods don’t suit you, then you might like the free online-only version through Spearhead that’s coming in a few days as well. (Yeah, you heard me. Free).

This second edition includes the newly edited manuscript, a revised map, and a From the Author section in which I share some of the little known facts about the book, including my life-change through the process of writing it. Re-editing the original manuscript is something I’ve wanted to do since the book was first published. I read every single piece of fan mail citing the poor editing, and took it very personally.

My heartfelt appreciation also goes to the marvelous people at CreateSpace and for allowing authors to do the unthinkable.

The Lion Vrie (Book 2) 2nd Edition is almost complete and ready for print, and Athera’s Dawn (Book 3) 1st Edition is halfway through editing-greatness, out before Christmas! ch:

I am so excited for you! This is great. I will always love my first edition for sentimental reasons. And I’ll always remember trying to salvage the paper version from your flooded bedroom floor while you were in Africa!

I’ll totally be getting the Kindle version! 🙂

You’re so thoughtful to remember all this. Thanks, Natty. Love you big.

I should say, “It’s about time!!” but alas we know that everything happens in God’s time.

    Christopher Hopper · 2 Nov ’11 at 11:09 am

That’s very true. Though it certainly has been kicking my butt for years…

Fantastic Christopher. I am praying you sell lots, not just as a return on your work, but as positive nod to self-publishing, the picture of the future. Looking forward to these books! BTW, did you see Harper Collins bought Thomas Nelson? Wow.

Sharon Hinck · 3 Nov ’11 at 9:55 am

Woo Hoo!!!! I still remember diving into the story in the airport and then on the plane, and being captivated by your imagination and beautiful heart for Jesus. Great to hear about this new edition!!!! Praying both our new editions fulfill the purposes God intends for them.
