And that’s just what it felt like. A glimpse of heaven kissing earth. The two nights of live recording were truly remarkable, made even more so by all the worshipers that showed up to join with us in glorifying the King through one of the many tools at our disposal: music. Both evenings were as memorable as they were unique, seeing the Holy Spirit touch on particular areas of ministry, from keeping Jesus as “the center of our focus,” to being embraced by his “all consuming love.”

I’m thrilled to announce that the new CD will be entitled, “Heaven Meets Earth: Christopher Hopper Band Live at New Life,” and is currently slated for an April release. You can use the PayPal button below to pre-order the record, which will not only help us in accruing additional funds to offset the post-production expenses, but get it to your doorstep a few weeks before everyone else can get it!

With the band members safely home, and the master tracks now in process at MasterView SoundCrafts Recording Studios, Jennifer and I are preparing to take a small team to Switzerland and Spain for two weeks of ministry. We’ll keep you updated right here as well as on our social media channels and live video feeds.

Again, a huge thank you to all those who journeyed out from near and far! It was an honor to capture these moments with you. ch:

An honor to be there, C, an honor. Godspeed and take lots of pics.

Thanks so much, Christian. You are so gracious. And your subsequent usage of the English vernacular truly astounds me. ch:

Thanks Mom! Yes, she is quite the doll. You’ll be so proud of her to hear the recording. Had an incredible prophetic anointing on her during the second night…and we captured it on tape! Thank you, Jesus! See you Wed.

Nathan Petrie · 4 Jan ’10 at 10:12 pm

I cannot WAIT to get money to get my hands on this 🙂 Still loving Live at the Lryic and Youtubing all sorts of CHB stuff. And its weird…because I typically rock out to TFK and Skillet style stuff lol But I guess I can be well rounded right? lol

And I’ll chat on the ARG as well 🙂 Was amazingly awesome 🙂 Well played Sir Hoppsalot

    Christopher Hopper · 5 Jan ’10 at 9:14 am

Thanks Sir Petriealotalotta! And yes, it’s important to be well rounded. Growing up in recording studios since I was a baby (something I count as a rare privilege), I thought it was very normal to like everything from jazz to R&B to metal to country to classical to rap to Gospel to modern rock to bluegrass. As a musician, having all of those influences in your tool kit makes you very versatile and powerful in the Lord’s hands; and as listener, you are able to dialog cross-culturally simply because of the music that you’ve allowed to impact your life. ch:

Yes, I will make one more addition,

Was a very fun tale, it was amazing of you to do it in addition with writing, and all the other things you do. I know it was difficult to do it at times and I applaud you for pulling through with it. And thank you for clearing that whole Friday/thursday thing.

One more thing, I wanted to ask you a question, but I’m not sure where to email it to, I saw a few emails on your FB profile. Thanks,

    Christopher Hopper · 5 Jan ’10 at 9:15 am

You can email me at: christopher [at] newlifenny (dot) com

Seth · 4 Jan ’10 at 10:53 pm

One more question, concerning the music, is it like the Curse of the Spider King song you made? Or is it a different genre? Thanks,

    Christopher Hopper · 5 Jan ’10 at 9:19 am

Stylistically, it’s hard to classify…maybe a cross between U2 (Delirious), Dave Matthews (David Crowder), Sting, and Misty Edwards / Hillsong / Planet Shakers… As for “The Lost Ones,” a few songs will share some of the same influences due to the fact that, musically, I wrote them; but as for arrangements, the CHB did all that, and they are a VERY diverse group of people. ch:

Sam · 5 Jan ’10 at 2:23 am

Tis true worship music Seth methinks.

    Christopher Hopper · 5 Jan ’10 at 9:20 am

Boy, I sure hope so. That’s my heart cry. If “true worship” means authentic, heartfelt, gut wrenching spells of intimacy, transparency, and full out shouts unto God that affect the culture of a generation, then I sure hope so. ch:

Thank you,

Billy.J · 5 Jan ’10 at 12:36 pm

How much is the CD? I can’t wait to get it, and I haven’t even heard t yet. I agree with Nathan, I always listen to Skillet, TFk, Flyleaf, Pillar, and other rock bands. But I’ve always been a huge fan of your stuff Christopher. I love Live at the Lyric and can’t wait to get this one! 🙂

Sam · 5 Jan ’10 at 1:15 pm

Can’t say I am a fan of any of the bands named this far. More of a Matt Maher or Chris Tomlin fan. Anywho, Mayhaps you will release a track 😛

John · 5 Jan ’10 at 4:17 pm

Suuuuuuuuper excited!

Storyteller · 6 Jan ’10 at 9:46 am

I cannot wait to hear the track, Sir Hopper!

And I also add my thanks for the ARG. It was absolutely wonderful; both the hunt and the opportunity to “meet” so many great people, including yourself and Sir Batson. Thank you both.

I second ST’s comment.
