So here’s the scoop. I’ve been a traveling, touring musician for 20 years now. (Holy crap, I’m aging). I’ve had cars, vans, and tour buses all break down, and always at the most inconvenient times. (In fact, we’re in the process of getting a new CUV right now–that’s “Child Utility Vehicle” to those of you who think it’s called a “MiniVan”). So I know how hard that can be.

In that context, there’s a new group I’d like you to check out. They’re actually not new to the “vehicular impairment issue” either, as they’re all from four well-established bands–Adelaide, Elektromat, This Day and Age, and the Priors–formed into one “super group.” Their name: Relevant Worship. And today I got an email that moved me, because I’ve written it before:

Hey Dear Friends,

First we want to thank all those who came out to the Casting Crowns last Thursday.  It was awesome to see you all and meet some new friends.  The purpose of my email is to ask you all to keep us in your prayers.  We have to a very busy summer ahead of us.  As many of you know, we have been have been invited to lead worship during the Alive Festival and Creation Festival in Ohio and Pennsylvania respectively.  We need your help.  We are in desperate need of transportation.  Our current Vehicle is getting up there in years and mileage.  It is also shrinking in size as a group grows.  We have added a link to our website under the media section to so you can download songs from our first record and also donate to the cause.  We have figured out that if each of our friends donates at least $5 we will be able to get our transportation taken care of.  Please help us continue to minster as God calls us out further from our home.

In Christ,
Daniel Swain
Relevant Worship

Would you be a part of these great Jesus-servants getting some new wheels? I already PayPal’d my small donation in, but I’d be thrilled if you would consider it, too, for any amount the Lord puts on your heart. Go ahead, investigate them, read their bio, watch their YouTube clips. (And I love that they’re all about impacting Buffalo, NY for Jesus and committed to the local church!). You can even download their stuff for free as Daniel mentioned. I would just love my crew to help out this crew. Please consider it (and let me know if you do by leaving a comment!).

Thanks gang…you are indeed the greatest. ch:

I so wish I could help these guys out, but sadly I don’t have a PayPal account. Is there any other way I could do a donation? Thanks for sharing this with us, it’s a blessing to bless others 🙂

Ryan: You’re so kind to respond. Thanks! I’m sure the band would be thrilled if maybe you blogged about them (researched their site and wrote a story about what you learn), told some friends, or post a link to my blog on FaceBook, etc.

Sharon: Awesome! Thank you so much! It must be wonderful to have them around, so close to home! God bless Hamburg Wesleyan! Loved playing there! ch:
